Pizza Time!

Hi chefs!

Yesterday, my family and I came together to make one to make one of my go-to staples, Naan pizzas!  This was a perfect activity for my nearly 4-year-old nephew Elliott!

I buy my naan at Costco or the restaurant supply store, but you can get it at just about any supermarket now. Make sure you buy pizza sauce and not pasta or marinara sauce-- it is so much thicker and will make a better pizza. Try it with your favorite toppings or make a Howard special-- pineapple, black olives, & fresh basil.

Confetti Cookies

I was looking for a quick cooking project to do with Elliott and I forgot about these cookies.  They use cake mix as the base! They are simple to make and I usually have everything on hand.  I usually use jimmies (or sprinkles) instead of the nonpareils.  Elliott went a little heavy with the nonpareils, which is why they look like there are a lot of them in there and started to discolor the cookie.  Enjoy! Making Spatzle with Oma

Today Elliott's class took a trip to Germany.  Coming from a German household, it was a perfect time for Oma (German for grandmother) to make this "lumpy noodles" dish for dinner.  Elliott and his Oma got to make one of our German favorites while I finished the rest of the meal. Baking Babka

Today I attempted something that I have never made before, Babka! It was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be.  I used our family's sweet yeast dough as the base and then added lots of Nutella on the inside. Elliott loved to help mix the dough up and I ended up putting it together and baking it while he (attempted) took a nap.  Here is the link for the recipe:  Babka
